January 28th, 1926. One hundred years ago when a young Scottish engineer
named John Logie Baird gave the first public demonstration of a working television system in London,
a grainy moving image flickering on a screen barely recognizable yet quietly signaling
the beginning of a medium that would go on to shape politics, culture, war,
entertainment, and how entire generations understood reality itself. Fast-forward 50
years to 1976, a year that now feels distant but was once electric with transition
because on April 1st, 1976, in a small California garage,
a few young men officially founded a company that would eventually place a computer in nearly
