Georgia Tann ran an adoption agency in Memphis from the 1920s to 1950. She told poor families

their children would get better lives, then sold them to wealthy people across America.

She kidnapped kids from hospital waiting rooms and playgrounds. She falsified birth certificates and

death records so parents couldn't find them. She charged up to 5,000 dollars per
