Gift or Guilt?

“I politely declined the gift… and suddenly he’s ghosting me.” Part 2 I made sure he knew

I wasn’t rejecting him. I wasn’t rejecting the thought. I wasn’t even upset

it was a dog-related gift. What bothered me was simple: She wouldn’t use

it. She’d destroy it. And I’d feel terrible that he spent $60 for nothing.

I explained this clearly. I even told him I’d tried noise-cancelling gear before — my

dog just won’t tolerate anything on her head or over her ears. But the whole time,

I couldn’t shake the thought: Why did he buy something for my dog… for MY birthday?

Not once did he ask what I wanted. Not once did he consider if this was practical.
