Once upon a time, a PGA golfer won an Olympic medal… in tug

of war. <break time="1.0s" /> It was the 1904 Olympics in St.

Louis — the one where the organizers treated the events like a county fair

with medals. Tug of war wasn’t a filler event. It was a

full Olympic sport — same medals, same podiums, same national pride… but instead of

training your whole life, you just showed up and pulled a rope.
