Britain's first offshore wind farm was spinning into life 25 years ago, and now offshore

wind powers one sixth of our electricity. But this didn't happen by accident. Greenpeace fought

for every single turbine you see in the North Sea today. When we started,

people thought we were crazy. We had to prove offshore wind could work economically.

We published reports showing it could power a quarter of Britain by 2020. We went door to

door campaigning for planning permission. We partnered with energy companies. We even took ads
