Growing a mango plant in water is easier than you think. Start by cutting
open a ripe mango and removing the seed. Rinse off all the fruit flesh under
running water until it's completely clean. Take a clear glass and fill it halfway
with fresh water. Stick three toothpicks around the middle of the seed so it sits half submerged
in the water. Place the glass on a sunny windowsill where it gets bright indirect light.
Change the water every few days to keep it fresh. Within one to two weeks,
you'll notice roots starting to sprout from the bottom. A green shoot will emerge from the
top soon after. Once the roots are a few inches long, you can transfer it to soil.
