Guardian's Signs

My dying mother promised her guardian angel would protect me. I've seen it now,

and I don't think it's an angel. PART 1 My mother died two months ago.

Cancer took her slowly. On her last day in hospice, she pulled me close

with crystal clear eyes. "Don't be sad," she whispered. "My guardian has

always protected me. A gift from my own mother when she passed."

"When I go, he will pass to you. You won't believe me at first,

but you'll know. There will be ten marks. Ten signs after I'm gone."

She recited them: "A coin returned. A silent bell. A path cleared. A saved fall.
