Haunted Tapes of Colin Avery

“Did you know a Hollywood actor filmed his own haunting—and the studio buried the footage?” In

1974, rising actor Colin Avery stayed in an abandoned Nevada motel to prepare

for a horror role. He recorded nightly tapes for “method acting.” On the first tape,

he joked about the creaking walls. On the second, he said he kept waking up to someone

breathing beside the bed. On the third, he whispered, “Something is watching

me from the bathroom.” The final tape—never released—showed Colin staring at the doorway,

shaking. “She won’t let me leave,” he said. The door behind him slowly opened

by itself. The camera fell. Colin disappeared the next day. The motel was demolished
