Haunting Memories of You

You left your coat on the back of my chair. Came home to

find you gone, but still here. Lavender floating through the kitchen light. Like you just

walked through, said goodnight. It's in the fabric of the couch we bought.

That Sunday driving back from your mom's. In the pillowcase I have an

change. Some things I'm learning not to rearrange. You're in the

air I'm breathing. In every doorway, every room. The sweetest kind of haunting.

This house still holds you. Still holds you. I catch you when I'm pulling

on my sweater. The one you borrowed, said you'd never give it back.
