Is it bad if I have a 214 heart rate? A heart rate of 214 bpm can be dangerous, especially if you
are at rest, as this indicates a very high heart rate for most people. A normal resting
heart rate for a 17-year-old is typically between 60 and 100 beats per minute, and a rate above
this, called tachycardia, warrants medical attention, particularly if
it's sudden and accompanied by other symptoms like dizziness, chest pain, or shortness of
breath. If the high heart rate is a result of intense physical activity,
it is less concerning, but you should still be aware of what is "normal" for you during exercise
and always consult a doctor if you have any concerns.
