Nuclear shadows burned into concrete at Hiroshima are permanent ghosts frozen in time.
When the atomic bomb detonated in 1945, it released a flash so intense that
people and objects blocked the thermal radiation for a split second, leaving their silhouettes
scorched into walls, steps, and pavement. The heat was so extreme it vaporized
human bodies instantly, but their shadows remained as dark stains on lighter surfaces.
One of the most haunting examples is on the steps of a bank where someone was sitting,
their shadow permanently etched into the stone while they vanished. Scientists measured
the temperature at ground zero reached over 7,000 degrees Fahrenheit, hot enough to melt
