The mint had already been under the robbers' control for 26 hours. The workers had printed a full 200
million euros for them, but that was still far from enough. According to the
plan, they needed to walk out with 2.4 billion. To stall for time, they held 67 hostages
and kept the police in a standoff. The longer this dragged on, the more money they
could print. To calm the hostages down, the robbers took them up to the rooftop
for some fresh air. But the moment they showed up, the SWAT officers across the street
froze. The hostages and robbers were dressed exactly the same, all holding weapons.
There was no way to tell who was who. Suddenly, one hostage spotted
