How a Car Engine Works

A car engine is basically a controlled explosion chamber. Fuel and air mix in the cylinders,

spark plugs ignite it, and boom, the explosion pushes pistons down.

Those pistons connect to a crankshaft that converts the up and down motion into rotation.

That rotation spins your transmission, which turns your wheels. The whole cycle

repeats thousands of times per minute. Intake stroke pulls air and fuel in, compression stroke

squeezes it, power stroke ignites it, exhaust stroke pushes waste gases out.

Four strokes, one complete cycle. Your engine does this constantly while running.
