You have way less control over what you eat than you think. Your environment
is literally hacking your biology to make you consume more. Take texture for
example. Science shows that if food is soft and easy to chew, you eat faster and
your brain doesn't register fullness, so you accidentally pack on pounds. Then there are your
friends. If they eat a lot, you subconsciously mimic them to fit in.
It’s called social facilitation. Even the size of your plate manipulates how full you feel.
The food industry knows your brain runs on autopilot, so stop blaming your willpower when
the game is rigged against you.
