Human Genetic Variation and Racial Categories

Did you know that if you picked out any two random people, 99.9% of their genome is identical.

The small 0.1% difference reflects common human genetic variation, and majority of that does not align

with racial categories. About 85% of human genetic variation already exist before humans migrated

out of Africa. This means only 15% of the differences in that 0.1% are due to groups settling

in different geographical locations or mixed with Neanderthals. Those small differences do not form biological

races as they arose gradually.
