I (24M) have a best friend I’ve known since middle school. We’ve always joked that we’d be in

each other’s weddings one day. Last year, he started dating this girl.

She seemed nice, but something always felt… off. Very controlling. Always checking

his phone. Getting mad if he hung out with anyone else. One night,

we were drinking, and he admitted he wasn’t happy but didn’t want to be alone again.

A few weeks later, she messaged me on Instagram asking if he ever talked to other girls.

I shouldn’t have answered. I told her the truth — that before they dated,
