They Fenced Off My Driveway, So I Took Their Clubhouse My house sits at

the end of a long gravel driveway that’s been there longer than the HOA itself.

When I bought the property, the easement was clearly recorded. Everyone used it.

No problem—until a new HOA board took over. New president, new rules,

big smiles, small minds. One morning I woke up to orange fencing and metal posts

blocking my driveway. A laminated notice hung from it: “Unauthorized access prohibited.” I called the HOA

office. They said the driveway “cut through common property” and would remain closed until

further review. That “review” dragged on for weeks. I couldn’t get my truck in.
