Indoor Recall Training Basics

Start recall training indoors where your dog has zero distractions. This is crucial because outside

stimuli will sabotage early progress. Use high value treats, not their regular kibble.

Say their name once, then your recall word. When they come, reward immediately

and generously. Practice five times per session, twice daily. Keep sessions short

so they stay excited about the game. Once they nail it indoors consistently for a full week,

then you can slowly add distractions. Never punish a dog for coming to you, even if they took

forever. You want recall to always mean something amazing happ ens.
