Influencer Ordered to Pay $1.75 Million

An influencer was just ordered to pay $1.75 million for having an affair with a married man.

In North Carolina, a jury found social media star Brenay Kennard liable for breaking up a marriage.

The wife sued her using a rare law called "alienation of affection." She argued Kennard's

relationship with her husband, who was also Kennard's manager, destroyed her marriage

and caused severe emotional distress. The jury agreed, awarding the wife a massive payout

for the loss of her marriage. Most states have abolished these so-called "homewrecker"

laws, but this case proves that in some places, interfering with a marriage can still

have serious financial consequences.
