Intubation at the Breaking Point

I slept with my attending and now he's refusing to let me intubate the patient who

might be his wife. The ER is chaos. Alarms screaming. Blood everywhere. This woman is crashing

and I'm the only one who can save her. But Dr. Hayes keeps blocking me.

His hands are shaking. His eyes wild. Then she whispers his name. My stomach drops.

Last night meant nothing to him. But if I don't push him aside and tube her right now,

she dies. And he'll blame me forever. Do I cross the line and take over?

Or do I let him destroy both their lives because of what we did?
