Japan's Invasion and Occupation of China

Throughout history, China has never achieved a military victory over Japan. In the late 19th

century, while China was still struggling with internal crisis, Japan rose to power,

annexing Korea and Taiwan in preparation for its ambition to dominate Asia. In September 1931,

Japan staged an incident to justify invading Manchuria, swiftly occupying the entire region

and establishing a puppet state known as manchuko under its control. But the expansion

didn't stop there. On July 7th, 1937, Japan launched an attack on Beijing,

marking the start of a full scale invasion of China. Major cities like Tianjin and Shanghai

fell one after another. By late 1937, Nanjing had fallen, and over the following six weeks,
