Jersey's Artistic Tribute to Liberation

This island just turned a dark chapter of history into a massive community art masterpiece.

It is been eighty years since Jersey was liberated from the Nazis, so locals spent

months remixing the famous Occupation Tapestry into twelve huge, colorful paintings.

Everyone got involved. Prisoners, teenagers, and even grandmas in nursing homes

all picked up brushes to tell the story of the war. One lady, Anne-Marie,

actually sewed the original tapestry back in the nineties and brought her old photo albums

to help paint this new version. It is the perfect way to honor freedom by bringing the

whole island together.
