Jesus' Birth: A Fall Celebration

Jesus was actually born in September or October, not December 25th. If you look at the

historical clues, a winter birthday is basically impossible. The Bible mentions shepherds sleeping

in the fields, but Judea in December is freezing and rainy. No shepherd would

be camping outside in that weather. Plus, if you track the priestly schedule

of John the Baptist’s father, the math places Jesus’ birth right around the fall

Feast of Tabernacles. The church actually picked December 25th centuries later to replace pagan

winter festivals. History points to a fall birthday, but the real point isn't the calendar,

it's that he showed up to change history.
