Jesus Withdrew to Pray

The Gospels repeatedly tell us something easy to overlook: Jesus withdrew to pray.

After miracles. After long days of teaching. After crowds pressed in.

Scripture says the crowds grew larger and larger — yet Jesus often stepped away.

He didn’t withdraw because He was weak. He withdrew because He was intentional. Early in the morning,

while it was still dark, Jesus went to a solitary place to pray.

Before choosing the twelve apostles, He spent the entire night in prayer. After feeding thousands,

He dismissed the crowds and went up a mountainside alone. Jesus was fully
