Joseph: The Dream Begins

JOSEPH — The Beginning of a Dream Genesis 30–37 Joseph’s story begins long before dreams,

before betrayal, before greatness. It begins with prayer. The Bible tells us that “God remembered

Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb” (Genesis 30:22,

KJV). For years, Rachel had waited while hope seemed delayed.

When Joseph was born, his life was already marked as an answer to prayer,

a quiet reminder that God moves in His own time. Joseph’s father was Jacob,

also called Israel, a man whose life had been shaped by God through struggle and promise.

Jacob had twelve sons, and Joseph grew up among them, learning responsibility
