Khutulun: The Unbeatable Mongol Wrestler

Khutulun was the most feared wrestler in the Mongol Empire, and she beat every man who tried to

marry her. This warrior princess made grown men weep and changed the rules of courtship

with nothing but her bare hands. Khutulun or Qutulun was a fierce 13th-century Mongol warrior princess,

great-great-granddaughter of Genghis Khan, famed for her unmatched wrestling skill and refusal to marry

any man who couldn't beat her in a match, leading her to amass thousands of horses from defeated suitors.

She also fought bravely alongside her father, Kaidu Khan, as a military leader,

earning renown as a formidable warrior who could capture enemies in battle. Born around 1260,

Khutulun was the daughter of Kaidu, a powerful Mongol khan who ruled Central Asia.
