of King David, whose story is found in 1 Kings 15 and 2 Chronicles 14-16. He is primarily
remembered as a good and righteous king who reigned for 41 years and initiated a sweeping
religious revival. Key Highlights of His Reign Religious Reforms: Asa successfully
purged Judah of widespread idolatry and pagan practices. He removed idols, male shrine prostitutes,
and even deposed his grandmother, Maacah, for making an idol for Asherah.
