The dictionary is lying to you about how English actually works. We think words are
these permanent ancient relics, but lexicology proves we are just making it all up as we
go. Take the word starve. It used to mean just to die of anything, not just hunger.
We changed that. Or look at smog. That is literally just smoke and fog smashed together.
We call these blends, and we do it constantly with words like hangry or chillax. Language isn't a
rulebook you have to follow. It is a living thing, and you are rewriting it every time you
speak.
