Lay It Down, Follow Jesus

A new year naturally makes people look backward. What went wrong. What was lost.

What still hurts. Some memories follow quietly. Others weigh heavily. But Jesus never

invited people to follow Him while clinging to the past. He said:

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Rest does not come from pretending the past didn’t happen. It comes from releasing

what no longer belongs to you. Jesus once said: “No one who puts a hand to the plow

and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” This wasn’t harshness. It was clarity.

Looking back too long makes it impossible to move forward well.
