The harder you try to fall asleep, the more awake you'll feel. It’s a weird brain
glitch called the law of reversed effect. So, stop trying.
Instead, just lie down and do this. Think about relaxing one body part at
a time, from your toes all the way to your head. Don't force it,
just notice each part letting go. Then, imagine a warm, colored mist slowly
surrounding you. Picture it making all your thoughts feel fuzzy and distant. Just float in that
comfortable haze. Your mind knows how to sleep; you just have to stop trying to control
it.
