The Glass of Water A professor held up a glass of water in front of his students.

he asked, “How heavy is this glass?” Students guessed: “100 grams… 200

grams… maybe 300.” The professor smiled: “The weight doesn’t matter. What matters is

how long I hold it. A minute? No problem. An hour?

My arm aches. All day? My arm goes numb. The glass hasn’t changed—the longer

I hold it, the heavier it feels.” He set the glass down and said, “It’s the same with

worries. If you carry them too long, they’ll crush you. Put them down."
