Trying to force yourself to sleep is exactly why you are still awake. It is a psychological
trap called the law of reversed effect where the harder you try the harder it gets.
The trick is to actually stop trying. Instead, visualize a cozy cottage with old
oak beams and a soft amber lamp. Don't think about sleeping, just imagine floating
on a giant orange cloud that turns into a velvet chair. Let a warm mist surround you.
When you stop chasing sleep and start visualizing comfort, your subconscious takes over and you
are out like a light before you even realize it.
