Louisiana’s Quirks and Pizza Law

Louisiana is literally the only state that refuses to be normal. Instead of counties, they have parishes,

and their legal system is based on French codes rather than English law because of their

deep colonial history. The geography is just as unique, consisting of endless wetlands,

bayous, and the massive Atchafalaya Basin swamp. It is the home of

jazz, Mardi Gras, and incredible food like gumbo and beignets. But the wildest

part is that it is actually illegal here to send a surprise pizza to someone’s house without permission.

That is a crime. Let the good times roll, but keep the pizza to yourself.
