Love Was Calm

I ran through nights that felt like easy touch, borrowed time.

Faces blurred, no roots, no ground. Just noise to try to drown

me out. I thought I wanted endless doors, but none of them felt like

a home. I wasn't looking for a crown, just someone standing on the same

ground. Not a savior, not a flame. Just two souls walking the same

lane. Then everything made sense when you pulled me close without defense.

Love wasn't fire, love was calm. Strong and steady in your arms. For the first

time, I could stay. For the first time, I felt okay.
