LTTE Organizational Structure and Wings

Organizationally, the LTTE was structured into four main wings: Military, Intelligence,

Political, and International. At the apex of this structure was Velupillai Prabhakaran,

who exercised centralized command over all components of the organization. The military wing

was divided into three distinct forces—land, sea, and air. The land forces

formed the core fighting element and were capable of both irregular warfare and large-scale
