Imagine being shot in the head for wanting to go to school. At just 15 years
old, Malala Yousafzai survived a Taliban assassination attempt because she dared
to speak up for girls' education in Pakistan. Growing up in Pakistan's Swat Valley,
Malala started blogging for the BBC at age 11 about life under Taliban rule. She refused to stay
silent when extremists banned girls from attending school. Her courage made her a target,
but it couldn't silence her message. After surviving the attack in 2012, Malala didn't retreat
into safety. Instead, she became even louder. At 17,
she became the youngest Nobel Prize laureate in history. She famously declared that one child,
