Mama, I Tried to Shine

I painted the sky with colors so bright. Hoped you'd see me

in the shimmering light. But your eyes stayed fixed on the ground.

And never saw the stars I found. I stitched my dreams

with threads so strong. Tried to weave a place where I belonged.

But the seams, they frayed when I fell. And you walked away,
