Max's Incredible Journey Home

A golden retriever named Max slipped his collar during a thunderstorm and ended up sixty miles

from home. For three months he survived on scraps and avoided coyotes in the wilderness.

His paws were bloody and he lost twenty pounds but he never stopped moving. Scientists say dogs

can smell their home from twelve miles away but Max proved they can do way more.

One morning his family heard scratching at their door. Max had traveled through forests

rivers and highways using nothing but instinct and pure determination. He collapsed in

their arms the moment they opened the door. That bond between a dog and his family

is literally unbreakable.
