Medicare is federal health insurance for people 65 and older, or those with
certain disabilities. It covers medical care, hospital stays, rehabilitation,
doctor visits, and prescription medications. Medicare generally does NOT cover most assisted living.
Many families mistakenly assume it does. Skilled nursing is different; it may cover short-term rehab,
but not long-term daily care. Supplement plans have limits. Planning ahead,
