MIL Ignores Christmas Gift Boundaries

“We set one clear boundary for Christmas… and my MIL ignored all of it.” Part 1

I’m 33F, and I generally have a good relationship with my MIL — except she has a long history

of not respecting boundaries. This year, we’re spending Christmas with my husband’s

family. Our son is 18 months old, and we told my MIL very clearly:

We don’t want toys or clothes. We asked for experiences instead — things like a zoo membership,

aquarium passes, maybe Legoland. And maybe a book or two he could unwrap.

He already has too many toys. He doesn’t even understand gifts yet.

She was NOT happy. She kept pushing, so eventually she asked for an Amazon wishlist of things
