Edwards was arrested for robbery, burglary, and first-degree murder.
After invoking his right to counsel during initial questioning, he was re-interrogated the next day without
access to counsel and made incriminating statements. The trial court admitted his statements,
and he was convicted If a suspect invokes their Miranda right to counsel the police may not interrogate
them nor may they seek a Miranda waiver unless: 1. Counsel is made
available to the suspect and present during interrogation, OR 2.
The suspect initiates further communication with the police. invocation must be unambiguous!!!
