Mom's Phone, Dad's Calls

My mom passed away three years ago — don’t worry, it gets funny. My dad still has

her phone… and he uses it. So sometimes I just get a call from “Mom.”

No warning. Just trauma. Couple months ago, I’m at CityMD doing a COVID test.

The kiosk asks: “Do you wanna update your emergency contact?” I look down. Emergency contact:

my mom. I’m like, “Yeah… I’m gonna leave that.” I tell my dad.

He gets mad: “Why wouldn’t you change it to me?!” I said, “Pops… better chance

she picks up the phone than you do.” If it’s not Panera Bread… If it’s not a Chipotle

Chicken Flatbread… This man is NOT answering. And he just goes, “Yeah.
