Monsters of the Deep Ocean

Deep sea diving just revealed creatures that shouldn't exist. At 3000 feet down, my dive team spotted

something moving in the darkness. A goblin shark with jaws that shoot forward to catch

prey. Then a vampire squid that glows red and turns itself inside out when threatened.

But the real terror came when we found a barreleye fish with a transparent head and eyes that

look straight up through its own skull. These animals have adapted to crushing

pressure and total darkness in ways that seem impossible. The ocean floor is hiding monsters

we're only beginning to discover, and every dive proves we know almost nothing about what's really

down there.
