You're about one centimeter taller when you roll out of bed in the morning than when you go
to sleep at night. Why? Because gravity is a bitch. All day long,
gravity compresses the cartilage discs in your spine and your joints, literally squashing
you down by about half an inch. When you lie down to sleep, your spine decompresses
and stretches back out like a goddamn accordion. The intervertebral discs between your
vertebrae absorb fluid and expand overnight. So technically, you're at your maximum
height first thing in the morning. By the end of the day, you've been compressed
back down. It's temporary as fuck, but it's real. Follow Doctor Bold
