Moving Different Than the World

I wake up already chasing thoughts that started without me.

The morning light feels too bright, but inside I'm still half asleep. People say,

"Just take things slower," but my mind doesn't know that speed. It's all or

nothing, fire or silence, never somewhere in between, and I'm tired

of pretending calm, of acting like I don I feel wrong. Trying to shrink

myself to fit a world that moves so steady and strong. 'Cause the world

moves different than I do, and I'm trying hard to keep the pace.
