My Story Became a Murder

I've loved scary stories since I was a kid, and eventually started writing my own.

Recently, I tried writing a crime story about an old jogger who gets murdered because

he's about to testify against powerful people. I researched everything and wrote it in

graphic detail. But while writing it, I realized how unrealistic and sloppy the whole

thing was. Too many witnesses, too much evidence, way too public. So I deleted the

story, embarrassed, and went to bed. The next morning, I woke up to loud

knocking. No one was there, just Polaroid photos on my doorstep showing the murder exactly

as I'd written it. Same angles, same details. Panicking, I turned on the
