National Guard Members Targeted in Shooting

A National Guard soldier was killed. Another was shot. Federal prosecutors say it was intentional.

Federal authorities say Sarah Beckstrom, a National Guard member, was shot and unalived

in a targeted attack. Another Guardsman, Andrew Wolfe, was also shot but survived.

According to court documents, this was not random violence. Prosecutors allege

the suspect knew the victims and opened fire during a confrontation. This was an ambush,

not a fight. Investigators say the shooter fled the scene, triggering a federal

investigation due to the victims’ military status. Federal prosecutors say the suspect
