Nurse Evelyn’s 3:17 Ritual

Everyone said Nurse Evelyn was the nicest person in the hospital. Always smiling. Always calm.

Doctors blamed faulty monitors. Security blamed bad wiring. No one checked the

supply closet. One night, a patient stayed awake and watched her through the

something clear. When the patient’s heart flatlined, Evelyn smiled wider. “Don’t worry,” she

said softly. “I bring them back better.” The patient survived—barely—and reported her.
