Old Friends and New Temptations

Now he felt he needed to talk to someone — someone who knew him and could possibly understand him.

Only one name came to his mind — Mark, his old friend. Dan called Mark and told him everything.

He explained that he had found a glitch in the banking system that allowed him to withdraw money

without any limit. Mark listened to him carefully, and then replied, “This is your matter.

I don’t want to get involved in it. But this doesn’t change how I think

about you. You’re still my friend.” It was the weekend. Dan suggested they

should relax a little — maybe take a trip to Melbourne, all expenses on him.

Mark agreed, “Why not?” Melbourne was the same city where Dan used to work — at a casino.
