Ontario Nurse’s Insulin Killing Spree

A nurse’s duty is to heal, but Elizabeth Wettlaufer had a deadly habit—one that went unnoticed

for almost a decade.” Wettlaufer, a registered nurse in Ontario, used her position

of trust to commit unthinkable crimes, injecting elderly patients with lethal doses of insulin.”

Her victims included James Silcox, a proud World War II veteran, Maurice Granat,

a devoted family man, and Gladys Millard, a kind-hearted woman loved by all who

knew her. In total, Wettlaufer confessed to killing eight patients and attempting

to kill six more.” Her weapon of choice—insulin—was difficult to trace, leading many deaths to be ruled as natural
